The NWMatrix 2026: Waking Up the Network

NWMatrix 2026 is a joint AEGEE Network Meeting organised by AEGEE Bilbao and AEGEE Valladolid. From 1 to 4 October 2026, we will bring together AEGEE members from across Europe for a weekend of learning, cooperation, and network building.

This event is not only about attending sessions. It is about meeting people from different locals, sharing ideas, exploring practical tools, and leaving with concrete inspiration you can bring back home.

Why NWMatrix?

The theme

In The NWMatrix, the network is the system.

Participants will explore a Matrix-inspired narrative where the system starts to show anomalies, hidden information appears, and every decision matters.

The message behind the theme is simple:
if each local works alone, nothing changes;
if we cooperate, share knowledge, and act together, we can wake up the network.

What to expect

During the weekend, participants will take part in sessions about:

European level involvement in AEGEE
event management
recruitment strategies
communication and teamwork
HR cycle and member retention
fundraising basics
promoting events and reaching external audiences
inclusion and accessibility in AEGEE

The programme is built around peer-to-peer learning, so everyone is welcome to contribute, ask questions, and share their own local perspective.

Accommodation

Participants will stay in a shared private hostel-style accommodation with bunk beds, creating a social, comfortable, and affordable environment for the whole weekend.

This accommodation setup is part of what makes the event feel like a real Network Meeting: shared spaces, shared conversations, and a stronger sense of community.
