{"id":2231,"date":"2017-08-19T15:07:04","date_gmt":"2017-08-19T13:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/?p=2231"},"modified":"2018-06-30T12:07:57","modified_gmt":"2018-06-30T10:07:57","slug":"education-for-the-present-democracy-for-the-future-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/en\/2017\/08\/19\/education-for-the-present-democracy-for-the-future-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Education for the Present, Democracy for the Future &#8211; conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cReflecting on the past, debating on the present, envisioning a different future.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was the motto of our conference, which was organized by AEGEE-Budapest, held in April 2017, which has been one of the highlights in our organisation\u2019s life during the last period. \u00a0In cooperation with two european bodies of AEGEE &#8211; Europe on Track project and Civic Education Working Group &#8211; we have earned the Franck Biancheri Award, which is the yearly Award given to one AEGEE antenna by \u00a0\u00a0the Association des Amis de Franck Biancheri (Friends of Franck Biancheri Association \u2013 AAFB). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AAFB is an association created in the aftermath of <em>Franck Biancheri\u2019<\/em>s death which aims at gathering, synthesizing, promoting, perpetuating and defending his work. <em>Franck Biancheri<\/em> (1961-2012) founded the European Students\u2019 Forum (AEGEE) in 1985, and contributed to the society in many ways, so we feel honored that we have received this award and have had the chance to organize an international event, honoring his memory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2232\" src=\"http:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1.jpg\" alt=\"image1\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1.jpg 1999w, https:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.locals.aegee.org\/budapest\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1999px) 100vw, 1999px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference was hosted by one of our great partner, the <em>Central European University<\/em>. The main thematic focus of the event was <strong>civic education<\/strong>, so participants were taking part in workshops, presentations which aimed at broaden their knowledge on the topic and create a space for discussion. During the 3-day event we have welcomed 70 participants from all over Europe, who gained new experiences, shared their ideas on the topic, met new people and enjoyed a fruitful weekend in Budapest.
