AEGEE-Bilbao organiza su primer gran <a href=\"http:\/\/intranet.myaegee.net\/event\/view\/56\/18010\" target=\"_blank\">evento<\/a> y es ni m\u00e1s ni menos que en la Aste Nagusia.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a party animal and have a lot of AEGEE spirit, join us in the most important festival of the Basque Country:<br \/>\n<strong>Bilbao\u2019s Aste Nagusia<\/strong>, named the 1st Treasure of Spanish Unphysical Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Get ready to party till dawn with over 100.000 people in the streets of our city, which are lined with marquees from various bars and societies, all accompanied by booming sound systems.<\/p>\n<p>But the streets are not the only witnesses of the crowd, which also invades different locations and premises. There are free live music performances on stages in squares and churches throughout the city every single night. Did you ever imagine a concert just next to the Guggenheim museum?<\/p>\n<p>Experience the attraction of the astonishing firework displays that light up the night sky every day at midnight, hosted each night by a different nation.<\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s not all. During these days you will:<\/p>\n<p>have time to relax in a beach of our magnificent coast, enjoying our perfect August weather of around 20-25 degrees, not cold and not stifling<br \/>\ndiscover the ancient traditions and customs of Basque culture<br \/>\nwalk around our beautiful city, with a healthy balance between its deeply rooted traditions and the most updated trends<br \/>\nhave the chance to taste the Basque cuisine<br \/>\n\u2026and much more<\/p>\n<p>Bilbao celebrates its Basque heritage with this vibrant fiesta in August. The inhabitants and visitors of Bilbao take the streets in Bilbao&#8217;s Aste Nagusia (Semana Grande or Big Week) celebrations. Its passion for food is reflected in one of the most popular Basque customs: the \u00abtxikiteo\u00bb or \u00abpoteo\u00bb, especially common in Bilbao.
